Tra gli insegnanti nella foto di fine anno scolastico 1916/17 della classe III (corsi A e C) della Regia Scuola Normale Promiscua "F. Crispi" di Piazza Armerina, contrassegnata dal n. V, abbiamo individuato la prof.ssa di scienze Angela Zelarovich, della quale anche questa volta il cultore di storia patria Francesco Impallomeni ci fornisce alcune notizie. Angela Francesca Maria nasce il 3 settembre del 1892 a Militello Val di Catania dall'ingegnere Gustavo Zelarovich di anni 34 e da Teresa Gargano fu Andrea di anni 25. Angela ha un fratello che nasce nel 1896 ma che morirà aspirante ufficiale nella Grande Guerra nel 1917. Dopo aver conseguito nel 1910 il diploma presso il Regio Liceo Classico "M. Cutelli" di Catania, si iscrive presso la Facoltà di Scienze Fisiche Matematiche e Naturali della Regia Università di Catania (una delle 3 femmine su un totale di 59 iscritti). Nel luglio del 1914 consegue sia il Diploma di Magistero in Scienze Naturali sia la laurea in Scienze Naturali con la votazione di 110/110, discutendo la tesi Contributo alla conoscenza della fauna del mare di Catania desunto dal prodotto delle reti a strascico (di cui l'anno prima aveva pubblicato il libro Primo manipolo d'Animali marini catturati da alcune reti a strascico nel Golfo di Catania). Gli anni successivi, sino al 1918, è nominata assistente in sovrannumero presso l'Istituto di Zoologia dell'Università di Catania. Alla Regia Scuola Normale "F. Crispi" di Piazza Armerina insegna Scienze nell'anno scolastico 1916/17 durante il quale conosce il futuro marito, l'avvocato piazzese Pietro Crea. Nel 1922 da Piazza Armerina si trasferisce con la famiglia a Catania, dove insegnerà presso i Regi Licei sino alla conclusione della sua carriera scolastica. Gaetano Masuzzo/cronarmerina.it
